We participated in the TerraVita Event in Chapel Hill for the second year on Saturday and had a marvelous time!  We provided sweet potato muffins, pumpkin muffins, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cupcakes with fudge frosting and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache and Spicy Southern Cheese Straws.  I had no idea they would be such a hit, but we're in the South and people like their cheese straws!  I heard a few people even admit they were better than mom's or grandma's, but I won't name any names.

Our goal in participating was two fold, first we wanted to let everyone know that a delicious organic bakery does exist in this area and second we wanted to let folks know that vegan and organic can be local, sustainable and scrumptious!  To achieve the first goal, we gave out coupons and brochures and business cards.  For the second goal, we saw the tasty treats we brought get devoured and people came back two and three times.  We love that.  We also had a display to show how an Organic Bakies gift box turns into a flower garden when the Bakies are consumed.

We're on an exciting journey here at Organic Bakies and we hope you'll come along.  Our next "behind the scenes" business goal is to become certified organic, to further demonstrate to our customers our commitment to the transparency and honesty of food production.  We welcome your comments and look forward to meeting you, talking with you, and baking for you!
